Just the other day while hunting for offshore anonymous webhosting companies we stumbledupon CCIHosting and decided to scribble this CCIHosting review down.
Now we have a set of benchmarks we pay attention to before stating why any company is better than the other, factors such as how anonymous is the company’s registration policy or payment methods, which country is the company based off, how good is its security, speed, uptime, support and so on.
All of these tests and data that this CCIHosting review is based upon will be 100% transparent and independently verifiable by you folks to be true.
As is the tradition with us, here’s the sneak-peek into CCIHosting’s prime features and aspects helping you form an idea of the company’s potential:

Pricing Plans and Packages
A Mercedes Benz has awesome features, great build and is definitely a product everyone wants, but there’s no point in going through a Benz review if you can’t bankroll a Benz, isn’t that right? The same applies to this CCIHosting review as well.
The CCIHosting company offers all the three hosting servers, namely the Shared, VPS and the Dedicated ones.
It also offers Cloud servers, VPNs, SMTP accounts and co-location services but we will only touch upon its server packages throughout this CCIHosting review.
They have 4 shared server plans, by default they start at USD $10.00/month and go upto USD $40.00/month; however if subscribed for 36 months the cheapest plan can be bought for USD $3.95/month going upto USD $22.95/month.
VPS plans have 10 packages, the cheapest plan starts at USD $15.00/month or USD $13.95/month if purchased for 36months, while the most expensive plan will set you back USD $200.00/month.
VPS plans have complete root access by default, however note that installing cPanel/WHM would cost you an additional USD $18.00/month (unlimited domains), and Plesk panels are priced at USD 12.00/month for 10domains.
Dedicated servers are available both as Windows and Linux servers, Linux servers start at USD $150.00/month and go upto USD $499.00/month. While Windows servers have a starting price of USD $185.00/month, going upto USD $525.00/month.
Our Verdict: The pricing does seem in accord with other similar companies in the industry. However a detailed insight into its features should help you weight the price:feature ratio better.
The company was established in the year 2002, and is based in Panama. Panama being a low tax jurisdiction and freedom-respecting country seems an apt location for a venture as such.
Although as is seen with some other offshore hosting companies from Panama, they offer servers only from their home country.
This results in lesser options, and a loss of performance for users accessing sites hosted on these servers from some other distant locations on the planet.
Our Verdict: Panama is an acceptable and satisfactory offshore location for most, its laws too are pretty liberal, however the fact that you can’t choose a server from other countries or locations does count as a negative.
The first time I went with any offshore hosting company, one of the prime aspects I was looking for was user-anonymity, a company which doesn’t want to know who or where I am and simply gets me what I’m paying for.
Unfortunately, CCIHosting isn’t exactly that liberal. It has a mandatory “true and accurate information only” policy for registration and hence you have to declare your real name and other such personal information.
They however have a privacy-policy which guarantees under no circumstances will a user’s private and personal data be shared with third-parties, unless warranted by the Govt. of Panama.
The payments however can be made completely anonymously using Cryptocurrencies and it supports quite a few of them.
Our Verdict: The requirement of the registration data needing to be true is a major setback for someone like me, considering how there do exist companies (like CyberBunker) which have no such requirement.
Page Load-Time Speed
One of the most important technical factors that matters with a hosting company is its speed, isn’t it?
This is 1 of the 3 tests that we conduct while testing the speed of a server for our reviews. The page load-time test reveals the time required for any specific website to completely load up on the server.
Although note that this test is largely based on the individual website being tested, its optimization and page-size which is determined by the codes, scripts, images and other content of the website.
- Test Website: https://www.ccihosting.com/
- Europe-UK-London: 2.30seconds (Verify results)
- Europe-Germany-Frankfurt: 2.51seconds. (Verify results).
- Asia-Japan-Tokyo: 3.93 seconds (Verify results).
- Pacific-Australia-Sydney: 5.21seconds (Verify results).
- North America- USA- Washington D.C: 1.49seconds (Verify results).
- South America- Brazil- Sao Paulo: 3.31seconds (Verify results).
Our Verdict: The tests above, from almost whole of the planet do prove that the site’s loading speed is quite disappointing, although as I mentioned earlier it’s only 1of the 3 tests, this may very well be the site’s personal flaw (poor optimization).
So we move on to the next test which should clear things further and establish if the server is at fault, or maybe not.
Server Response Time (SRT)
This is 2/3 of the speed tests, and it’s less dependent on the individual site and more on the server. We’ll test the time required by the server to respond to the client’s request to load the site up.
In laymen’s terms, this time largely decides how slow or fast the page load-time of the site is.
Here’s the Server Response Time of CCIHosting from different locations across the globe (result verification):
As is evident, the SRT for US is impressive being just 95ms, however it’s 335ms and 577ms for London and Singapore respectively, which in our experience can’t be counted towards impressive results.
Our Verdict: The page load-time we recorded earlier wasn’t totally an optimization problem, and the speed performance of the company does seem questionable.
Server Response Time when Traffic Spikes
The final test in the speed series is of a real-world scenario, we record the server’s behaviour with increased traffic on the site, as a general rule the less increase or fluctuations a server shows, the better it’s considered to be.
For this test, we send as many as 25 Virtual users to the site which help us monitor the site’s response.
The result-snap above (Verify result) shows apart from the initial SRT-spike which is natural for any other server, the SRT does remain pretty constant throughout.
The highest SRT recorded was 85ms for 3 active VUs which went down to 59ms for 24VUs.
Our Verdict: We’ve seen better results, yet these were acceptable if not impressive.
Security here means the features and firewalls the company has made available to keep the user site’s safe and functioning at all times.
It has installed (not verified by us) multiple scrubbing centres across the globe helping it counter DDoS attacks however the exact strength of the attack which the server can mitigate hasn’t been mentioned clearly.
It also has embedded R1Soft data protection which automatically takes backup of VPS accounts everyday preventing data loss.
Our Verdict: Security features are basic, yet acceptable.
Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Being a Panamanian company they get the liberty of allowing a wider range of content than some other companies, the list of content which isn’t allowed includes:
- Illegal Porn
- Illegal Drugs
- SIP Scanners
- IP Spoofing
Apart from the above list, some other content is allowed with specific terms and conditions attached to them, for e.g. Tor relays are allowed only on Dedicated servers which also have their own Dedicated bandwidth, VPN too is allowed but only on VPS, Dedicated and Cloud servers.
They also do not pay heed to DMCA “complaints”, and have clearly stated that they won’t consider DMCA complaints or takedown notices hence allowing copyrighted content, although only as long as those complaints aren’t proceeded via the Panamanian courts.
IRC services too are allowed as long as they’re used for legal purposes. Audio/Video streaming is allowed as long as low-demand streaming sites are hosted on shared and high-demand on Dedicated servers.
Online Casinos and Gambling sites too get a pass (which is rare), the only condition is you can’t let Panamanian citizen play or use these sites.
Our Verdict: It’s one of the most liberal AUPs we’ve ever crossed paths with.
They claim 24X7 support via a number of ways which include:
- Support over Facebook
We tested their live-chat and waited over 15-minutes, after which we manually closed it without any response from their end, hence we do doubt their 24X7 support claim (atleast via live-chat).
Payment Methods and Refund Policy
One of the last sections of this CCIHosting review is their payment methods, as mentioned earlier they do allow Cryptocurrencies along with Fiats, the list of allowed modes of Payments includes:
- Credit/Debit card
Their 30-day moneyback guarantee is only acceptable for shared servers purchased for a minimum duration of 3-months, and only if paid via Paypal or Credit Cards.
Final Words on CCIHosting Review
So that’s a wrap as far as this CCIHosting review goes folks. In my personal opinion the server doesn’t perform exceptionally well, although is acceptable and isn’t a complete disaster.
Most other non-technical factors such as AUP, Support, Payment methods etc. do seem welcoming.
But it’s you who’s on this CCIHosting review, so what you think matters more than what I do hence do drop your two cents on the company, as well as this CCIHosting review in general, was it transparent, detailed and information enough?
